Protocol Engineer

Requirements

• Very strong working experience in blockchain with deep technical knowledge of the EVM at the protocol level.
• Senior role for at least 3 years at a professional/well-known web3 company, with 8+ years in software engineering.
• Experience contributing to an ERC standard or similar blockchain protocol, with audited and deployed smart contracts.
• In-depth understanding of competing blockchain standards and ecosystems, with ability to evaluate and implement solutions.
• Strong mathematical background, ideally a PhD or Masters in a STEM/CS subject.
• Tech stack: NodeJS, Rust or Go, Solidity.
• Bonus: Experience with multi-party computation, ZKProof, trusted execution environments, and integrating DeFi protocols.

Responsibilities

• Develop a comprehensive architecture for a biotech IP protocol based on user research and business process requirements.
• Build a protocol that enables automated licensing enforcement and distribution, ensuring scalability, interoperability, and security across chains.
• Co-author a whitepaper that communicates the vision, design, and practical applications of the Molecule protocol to external stakeholders.
• Design and implement scalable backend systems for blockchain data management using cloud services like AWS.
• Create efficient data pipelines, integrate blockchain nodes, and optimize query performance for web3 applications.
